Por más tentador que le parezca comenzar la traducción de su material lo más rápido posible, hacer que los traductores trabajen a partir de un borrador en proceso de redacción casi siempre demandará más tiempo y, por lo tanto, probablemente será más costoso que esperar a que el texto final esté listo. Peor aún: cuantas más versiones del texto tenga, mayores son las probabilidades de que se cuelen errores en la versión final de la traducción.
A veces no hay otra opción. A veces los tiempos son tan acotados que la traducción debe empezar antes de que el texto original se haya terminado de redactar. En ese caso, asegúrese de fechar y marcar con el horario cada una de las versiones del texto y, claramente, indique al traductor los cambios que aparecen entre las diferentes versiones, para que no queden dudas sobre la versión final del texto a traducir.

Tempting as it may be to get your translation project rolling as quickly as possible, having translators work from a draft-in-progress will almost always be more time-consuming –hence more expensive (and probably more frustrating)- than waiting for the final text to be ready. Worse yet: the more versions you have, the more likely it is that errors will creep into the final version.
Sometimes you have no choice. Sometimes deadlines are so tight that work on the translation must begin before you´ve finalized the original text. If this is the case, be sure to time and date-stamp each version and mark changes from one version to the next clearly for your translators, so there are no doubts on the final version of your text to produce an accurate translation.
